General Materials, Inc. was birthed during the 1970s in Oklahoma City. Originally, GMI’s sole purpose was to mine sand out of the North Canadian river basin for “Hot Sand Asphalt” used by our sister company and asphalt producer, Haskell Lemon Construction. By vertically integrating our material supply we knew that we could control the quality, a value that still remains in the forefront of our minds today. Throughout multiple generations, hard work, and innovation General Materials has grown into a full service aggregates supplier. Today we know that the growth of Oklahoma City means the growth of our community and our people. We take pride and ownership in this through our everyday work, producing quality sand and gravel.
